On October 23, during the 22nd Interamerican Accounting Conference in the city of Lima, Peru, the Board of Directors of the Group of Latin American Accounting Standard Setters (GLASS) and the Presidents of the regional accounting standard setters held meetings, during which the new Board of Directors of GLASS was elected.
At the end of his term as President, the representative from Mexico, Felipe Pérez Cervantes, presented his report on the activities of the Board from 2015 to 2017, which confirmed the importance of the technical working groups in the dissemination of new International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in Latin America.
Eduardo Pocetti, the representative from Brasil, has been elected President of GLASS for the two-year period from 2017 to 2019.

As part of the work carried out by the Board of Directors of GLASS to promote the implementation of IFRS in Latin America, each time there is a face-to-face Board meeting, the Directors participate in technical events of local universities or other professional and business organizations to comment on current financial reporting topics.
On October 24, in response to the invitation of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, the Directors of GLASS presented conferences to the students and faculty of those institutions.
