Hernán Cassinelli has appointment approved for Iaasb

The director of the Latin American Group of Financial Reporting Standards Issuers (GLENIF), Hernán Cassinelli, has been appointed by the Public Interest Oversight Board (PIOB) to be a member of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (Iaasb).


Hernán will participate in the development of auditing and assurance standards and has extensive experience in IFRS Accounting Standards. Cassinelli combines his professional career and his standard-setting activities with a great deal of academic activity. Hernán is also managing director of the Federación Argentina de Consejos Profesionales de Ciencias Económicas (FACPCE).


The appointment, for a three-year term, is part of the implementation of the PIOB’s recommendations to strengthen the international standard-setting system through independent multiplier councils.

The PIOB is the body that oversees the work of the international boards and follows the recommendations of the Monitoring Group, a collegiate body made up of representatives of regulatory bodies, issuers, users and accounting and auditing professionals.
