The World Congress of Accountants (WCOA), held in Sydney from 5 to 8 November 2018, brought together leaders and professionals from the business and financial community around the world. It featured 153 speakers, offering participants a variety of presentations, master classes, sponsor cases and a trade show.
The four-year event, hosted by IFAC, was co-hosted by Chartered Accountants Australia, New Zealand (CA ANZ) and CPA Australia, bringing together 5,500 participants from more than 115 countries.
Under the motto “Global Challenges, Global Leaders,” emphasis was placed on the importance of ethics and integrity and embraced technological disruption and sustainability.
The program was composed of 4 days of activities and key lectures on key themes: trust, ethics, diversity, sustainability and new technologies. On the first day the focus was on the presentation of business showcases and Accounting, the second emphasized the goals to be achieved. The third highlighted best practices and the fourth the future.
Among the themes and mission of the event were: Protect, Safeguard, Generate Confidence, Leadership, Embracing Disruptive Technology, Ethics and Integrity and Sustainability.
The program provided a diverse experience, using the latest technology and didactic methods, enabling learning, adaptation and career acceleration.
