In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the promulgation of the Public Accounting Exercise Law, the Federation of Public Accountants Faculties of Venezuela (FCCPV) held the XIV Venezuelan Congress of Public Accounting. On this occasion, Dr. José Luiz Carvalho, representing Glenif, greeted all the participants of the congress and delivered a speech about the activities and importance of Glenif for Latin America. “It is an honor to be here and, on behalf of Glenif, participate in the festivities of the profession, which are very important for our countries, providing support in economic activities and social development. We work to bring not only the best accounting practices but also those related to organization and business,” he said.
He emphasized the importance of current public accounting having a governance vision to discuss the best business practices and support small entrepreneurs. “The importance of Public Accounting currently serves as an organizational function in many instances, supporting public administration and social activities. We aim to promote not only the best accounting practices but also organizational practices, which are essential in professional practice and governance,” he explained.
José Luiz highlighted that Glenif has significant responsibilities regarding the “Sustainability” theme and that they are working to teach the recently published sustainability standards. “Glenif has created a permanent sustainability commission to discuss, monitor, and teach the new sustainability standards,” he stated.
The congress took place from July 20 to 22 in Mérida, a city located in the Venezuelan Andes, and brought together several experts in public accounting. Workshops were held on current topics such as Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Direct Taxation, Deferred Tax, among others.
