The accountant José Luiz Ribeiro de Carvalho, president of the Group of Latin-american Accounting Standard Setters (GLASS), took part on Wednesday evening (21) in Brasilia, Brazil, in the tenure of the new board of the Conselho Federal de Contabilidade (CFC), elected for the 2024-2025 biennium.
The ceremony brought together accounting leaders, professionals and government authorities, as well as GLASS’s former presidents, Juarez Domingues Carneiro (2011-2013) and Eduardo Pocetti (2017-2019).
On the occasion, the president of the CFC, Aécio Dantas, emphasized in his speech that bringing Brazilian accounting closer to international accounting bodies stands out as a crucial step. “In an increasingly interconnected world, global collaboration promises to enrich Brazilian accounting with the best international practices and standards,” said the president.
